How QuoteFinder Works
QuoteFinder.ca is a Canadian quote marketplace platform that helps consumers submit quote requests and compare responses from participating insurance professionals. The platform is designed to support individual agents and brokerage/team accounts in a structured marketplace with rules, messaging controls, and published policies.
Quick summary: Consumers submit a quote request, eligible providers can respond through the marketplace, and the consumer chooses who they want to proceed with. QuoteFinder.ca is a marketplace platform and does not issue insurance policies.
Who uses QuoteFinder.ca
- Consumers who want to request and compare quotes in one place.
- Agents and brokers who want to respond to quote opportunities through the platform.
- Brokerages and teams that use shared workflows, routing, and member accounts to manage quote responses.
How the consumer quote process works
1) Submit a quote request
A consumer starts by submitting a quote request through QuoteFinder.ca. The request may include details such as product type, location/province, timing, and other information needed for providers to understand the request.
Why we ask for details
Request details help determine which providers may be eligible to respond and help consumers receive more relevant responses.
2) The request is processed by the marketplace
After submission, the platform organizes the request and applies marketplace rules such as category matching, province/service-area eligibility, account standing, and platform settings. Depending on the workflow, a request may be visible to eligible providers in a market feed and/or made available through provider access rules.
Not every provider will see every request. Availability can depend on platform rules, provider profile setup, coverage areas, account status, and marketplace limits.
3) Providers submit responses
Participating agents or brokerage/team members may submit responses through the platform. Responses may include quote information, range estimates, timelines, a short explanation, and platform profile details to help the consumer compare options.
QuoteFinder.ca may apply content, formatting, and marketplace rules to responses and may restrict responses that violate platform standards.
4) Compare responses in your dashboard
The consumer can review responses in their quote request detail page and compare provider information, timing, and other available details. Depending on platform features, consumers may also see ratings, response-time indicators, verification badges, and messaging options.
Compare carefully
Consumers should review provider profile details, verification information, response quality, and any policy/process disclosures before choosing who to proceed with.
5) Choose a provider and continue
The consumer decides which provider they want to proceed with next. After selection, next steps typically continue with the selected provider, subject to platform messaging/privacy settings and the provider’s own process.
QuoteFinder.ca does not guarantee that every consumer will receive the same quote, the lowest price, or identical coverage options across providers.
How provider responses work (agents and brokers)
Eligibility and access
Providers do not automatically receive every request. Access may depend on factors such as:
- Product/category match
- Province or service area coverage
- Profile completeness and account standing
- Verification status (where applicable)
- Marketplace settings and capacity limits
- Credits, subscriptions, or plan access (if applicable)
Submitting responses
Providers submit responses through the platform using marketplace tools and must follow platform rules, communication standards, and quality requirements. QuoteFinder.ca may enforce requirements related to profile accuracy, response format, conduct, and prohibited behavior.
Messaging and communication
Where platform messaging is enabled, communication may occur inside QuoteFinder.ca to support a safer and more organized workflow. Depending on the feature setup, the platform may apply privacy controls, masking, or redaction rules to reduce spam, misuse, and unsafe contact behavior.
How brokerage and team accounts work
QuoteFinder.ca supports brokerage/team accounts so organizations can manage multiple users, shared workflows, and marketplace participation in one account structure.
Brokerage/team account features may include
- Organization profile and public team/brokerage page
- Member invitations and role-based access
- Shared quote request feeds or assignment workflows
- Internal routing rules for products, provinces, or availability
- Team billing, credits, and receipts
- Compliance document and verification workflows
Brokerage/team admins are responsible for managing member access, account roles, and compliance with platform rules under the applicable provider/team terms.
How rankings, badges, and visibility may work
QuoteFinder.ca may display provider information such as verification badges, ratings, response times, or other marketplace indicators to help consumers compare options. Listing order, visibility, or access may be influenced by platform rules, eligibility, performance, profile completeness, and other disclosed factors.
QuoteFinder.ca aims to explain how marketplace visibility and badges work and to avoid presenting paid access or platform fees as independent editorial recommendations.
