Brokerage / Team Rating Methodology

This page explains how QuoteFinder.ca may collect, calculate, display, moderate, and review disputes related to brokerage/team ratings. It also explains how organization-level ratings differ from individual agent ratings and how users should interpret both when comparing providers on the platform.

Quick summary: Brokerage/team ratings are organization-level platform trust signals based on eligible user feedback about their experience with a brokerage/team through QuoteFinder.ca. They are separate from individual agent ratings and do not automatically represent every member of the organization.

Why this page exists

QuoteFinder.ca supports both individual providers and brokerage/team accounts. When organization-level ratings are displayed, users should understand what those ratings reflect, how they are collected, and how they differ from ratings for individual agents or brokers.

Publishing this methodology helps consumers compare providers more accurately and helps brokerages/teams understand the rules for review eligibility, moderation, and disputes.

What a brokerage/team rating is

A brokerage/team rating is an organization-level rating shown on a brokerage or team profile (where enabled) based on eligible feedback from users who had a qualifying platform interaction connected to that organization.

These ratings are intended to reflect the user’s experience with the organization’s handling of a request through the platform, not a guarantee of future results.

Organization-level rating = team/account-level signal

Brokerage/team ratings are meant to help users understand how an organization performs on the platform. They do not automatically rate every individual agent/member equally and should be read together with any individual agent ratings, profile details, and response information.

How org ratings differ from individual agent ratings

Rating typeWhat it applies toWhat it typically reflectsWhat it does not automatically mean
Individual agent ratingA specific agent/broker profileUser feedback about that individual provider’s platform interaction and response experienceIt does not automatically rate the entire brokerage/team organization
Brokerage/team ratingAn organization account/profileUser feedback about the organization’s handling of the request (including workflow, responsiveness, coordination, and overall platform experience with the team)It does not automatically rate every individual member the same way

Important distinction

A high brokerage/team rating does not guarantee that every member has the same individual rating, and a high individual rating for one agent does not automatically mean the entire brokerage/team has the same organization rating.

What brokerage/team ratings may be based on

Where enabled, organization-level ratings may be based on eligible user feedback connected to a platform interaction involving the brokerage/team account or a member acting through that organization’s workflow.

Examples of factors users may rate (depending on the review form)

  • Communication clarity from the brokerage/team
  • Response timeliness and follow-up
  • Professionalism of the interaction through the platform
  • Coordination/consistency when multiple team members are involved
  • Clarity of next steps and overall marketplace experience with the organization

QuoteFinder.ca may also display platform metrics (such as response time indicators), but those are not the same as user-submitted ratings and should not be treated as reviews.

Who may be eligible to rate a brokerage/team

QuoteFinder.ca may limit brokerage/team ratings to users who had a qualifying interaction through the platform tied to that organization. This helps reduce spam and improve review integrity.

Depending on the workflow, a qualifying interaction may include a submitted quote request, a response from a team member under the brokerage/team account, a messaging exchange, or a provider selection event involving that organization.

Eligibility principles

  • Ratings may be limited to users with a platform-recorded interaction linked to the brokerage/team
  • The platform may restrict duplicate ratings for the same interaction
  • The platform may apply timing windows for rating submission
  • The platform may block rating submissions where abuse, fraud, or policy concerns are identified

How brokerage/team ratings may be collected

QuoteFinder.ca may request organization-level feedback through in-platform prompts, dashboards, or follow-up messages after an eligible interaction. The rating request may identify the brokerage/team profile and may also allow optional written feedback.

In some workflows, users may be able to rate the organization and/or the individual agent separately. Where both are available, the platform aims to label them clearly.

How brokerage/team ratings may be calculated and displayed

Where organization-level ratings are shown, QuoteFinder.ca may display an average score, review count, recent reviews, or category-specific summaries tied to the brokerage/team profile.

Display elementWhat it may showImportant context
Organization average ratingCombined score from eligible ratings tied to the brokerage/teamReflects platform-collected ratings for the organization profile, not a guarantee of future experience
Organization review countNumber of published/eligible reviews included in the displayMay exclude removed, ineligible, or policy-violating reviews
Written organization reviewsUser comments about experience with the brokerage/team through the platformMay be moderated for policy compliance
Platform response metricsPlatform-calculated indicators (for example, response time)These are platform metrics, not user-submitted ratings

QuoteFinder.ca may apply minimum review counts, minimum activity thresholds, or other display rules before showing an organization rating to reduce misleading low-sample displays.

What organization ratings should and should not be used for

Useful ways to use brokerage/team ratings

  • As one comparison input when evaluating a brokerage/team profile
  • To understand general user-reported experience with the team’s platform handling
  • Alongside profile details, verification badges, response metrics, and individual ratings (where available)

What organization ratings should not be treated as

  • A guarantee of pricing or the lowest quote
  • A guarantee of policy approval or underwriting outcomes
  • A guarantee that every individual member performs the same way
  • A substitute for reviewing individual responses, disclosures, and credentials

Moderation of brokerage/team reviews and ratings

QuoteFinder.ca may use automated checks and/or manual moderation to review organization-level ratings and written reviews for policy compliance, safety, and integrity. Moderation may happen before publication, after publication, or when content is reported.

Payments do not buy review outcomes

Provider fees, credits, subscriptions, or team plans do not buy positive organization ratings, fake reviews, or unfair removal of legitimate negative feedback.

Organization reviews may be restricted, hidden, or removed for reasons such as:

  • Spam, promotional content, or irrelevant content
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive language
  • Impersonation, fake review behavior, or coordinated manipulation
  • Private/sensitive information disclosure
  • Duplicate reviews or ineligible reviews without a qualifying platform interaction
  • Content that materially violates platform policy

QuoteFinder.ca generally aims to preserve the substance of legitimate feedback where possible, including limited redaction of sensitive information instead of full removal when appropriate.

How disputes and correction requests may work

Brokerages/teams, individual providers, and users may dispute organization-level ratings or reviews when there are concerns about eligibility, attribution, accuracy, or policy compliance.

Examples of valid dispute topics

  • Review is linked to the wrong brokerage/team
  • No qualifying platform interaction exists
  • Impersonation or fake review concerns
  • Policy violations (harassment, spam, private information)
  • Requests to correct verifiable factual errors

Typical dispute process

  1. Dispute is submitted: The user/provider/brokerage contacts QuoteFinder.ca or uses the platform reporting feature (if available).
  2. Initial review: QuoteFinder.ca reviews the dispute reason and the content.
  3. Evidence review: QuoteFinder.ca may review platform records, timestamps, account activity, assignment/routing records, and related materials.
  4. Decision: The rating/review may be kept, corrected, redacted, hidden, or removed based on policy and available evidence.
  5. Outcome notice (where applicable): Relevant parties may be notified of the result.

QuoteFinder.ca may prioritize safety, impersonation, privacy, and abuse-related disputes.

Relationship to ranking and visibility

Brokerage/team ratings may be displayed as organization-level trust signals and may be one of several factors considered in platform visibility or comparison workflows. They are not the only factor and do not guarantee placement or client selection.

QuoteFinder.ca is not paid to rank quotes unfairly. For more information, see How Ranking / Visibility Works and How We Make Money.

Relationship to verification badges

Organization-level ratings and verification badges serve different purposes:

  • Verification badges indicate platform review of certain information under verification criteria
  • Ratings/reviews reflect eligible user feedback about the platform interaction experience

A verified brokerage/team badge does not guarantee a certain rating, and a high rating does not automatically mean the organization is verified.

See Verified Brokerage/Team Program and Verified Agent Program.
